Growth Prompts New Hires at PBI/Gordon

April 1, 2005

Kansas City, Missouri -- PBI/Gordon Corporation, a product innovation leader in the professional turf and ornamental market, is pleased to announce the recent hire of two new territory sales representatives.

"Recent growth challenges and new product introductions have forced us to create new territories," says Mark Miller, Vice President of Sales for the company's professional and agricultural product group. "We are really proud to have these two guys on board at PBI," continues Miller. "They both have a great deal of experience in our industry and will bring added value to the company and the accounts they will service," Miller said.

Bill Affinito is familiar with every aspect of golf course maintenance and management. Most recently Golf Course Manager at Miacomet Golf Course in Nantucket, MA, where he has worked for the past five years, Bill has also worked as a maintenance staff member and as an assistant superintendent.

Working on golf courses throughout his college career, Bill has held positions at Oak Lane Country Club in Woodbridge, CT, Pilgrims Harbor Golf Club in Wallingford, CT, Heather Hill Country Club in Plainville, MA and at Norfolk Golf Club in Westwood, MA. Bill earned his B.A. in Economics in 1990 at St. Michael's College in Winooski Park, VT.

"Bill's experience with the golf industry is a definite asset in the New England area," says Mark Miller. "And he'll be getting sales training from one of our top sales representatives, John Patten, so we're excited about the expertise Bill will add to our team."

Sean Kearney has 25 years of experience in selling, marketing, leading and training. Sean has also worked in the lawn care market at ChemLawn as well as for many of PBI/Gordon's customers, including Lesco, UHS and Wilbur-Ellis. "Seans' insight into the needs of these customers is a real 'plus'," Miller said. "Sean really knows our business," says Miller, "from both the end-user and distributor sides of the industry." Throughout his career, Sean has been active in industry organizations at both the local and national level. Sean received his BS in Biology at the University of Notre Dame where he was a National Merit Scholar; he also received Honors in Aquatic Entomology.

Bill Affinito will take over a newly formed territory in New England which includes New York, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, Massachusetts and Maine. Sean Kearney will cover Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota.
